Glycerol (also known as glycerin) is a major byproduct in the biodiesel manufacturing process. The crude glycerol as a major byproduct during biodiesel production, consists of a copious amount of impurities which inhibits its direct usage in industries. As the biodiesel industry is rapidly expanding, a glut of crude glycerol is being created.
